Legacy Clients Part 1: The bridal shower gift that keeps on giving.

Event planners are fortunate when they can use their gifts and talents to serve one family for multiple events and even generations. I refer to those clients as “legacies.” Decades ago, it was a standard practice for families to use the services of the same caterers, planners, florists, and more for generations. It promoted loyalty and sustainability within communities and for the businesses. Black communities thrived on that practice.

Below are photographs from the very first event I designed and planned for one of my legacy families. It is a bridal shower with the theme, “Tiffany & Tea.” I was hired by the maid of honor who wanted to showcase the bride-to-be’s love for Tiffany and tea. Details in the decor and in the hospitality reflect the maid of honor’s love for her friend but also the bride’s personal interests and tastes. Note the gifts and favors prepared for guests.

This one event has become a gift to me that keeps on giving. Next week, I will share more about this family with another event.
